  1. Hi Owe! How is the labour market in Aland for the moment? Is it easy for the students to find restaurants for workplace learning?

    1. It's pretty good, we have quite a large year round tourism and so we have our cruise ferries that need workers.

  2. Thanks Owe. Where are you situated here? I see it is an island off Finland. I am visiting Finland next week - Vaasa. Your school kitchen looks huge and very professional. How often do you have the restaurant open or is it mainly functions and special events or certain days a week? Thanks for really clear photos

    1. We served school lunch monday to friday for about 150 students and teachers, they get served by the waiter students, often two-courses. And we have the restaurant open for the public Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.

  3. One more question Owe - do the teachers visit the students while they are on placement? Who arranges the placements - the students or the school? (In Australia there are external placement agencies in many cases and they work with a number of schools and get to know the placement opportunities).

  4. If the students themselves find an placement that´s fine. Otherwise, help the teacher! We have good contacts with the great restaurants in town or ferries.
